Hi everyone

Hi everyone,
I'm Ayat Tawel, an EFL teacher from Cairo, Egypt. I have been teaching for about 15 years now in different language schools. I am currently teaching at the British council in Egypt (which is a different and exciting experience). I have taught young learners all my teaching life, and find it really challenging and inspiring.
As using technology in ELT is one of my main interests, I have explored the potential of many online tools with young learners . I believe we keep learning every day we teach YLs. That's why I am very excited about joining this course esp. that Juan has been inspiring us with his ideas all the time. It's also great to be among the iTDi family again, and to have some of my online friends and even friends from Egypt here as well.
Looking forward to learning with and from all of you :)

  1. Hi Ayat!
I am very happy to share my journey with all of you. I do feel like a family member and meeting caring and enthusiastic teachers of YLs is a privilege.

I would like to know more about your experience with technology with YLs. I am sure that there are lots of affective opportunities there!

  2. Hi Juan Uribe Thank you for the kind words, I am so happy to have joined your course as I really admire your work. As for my work with technology with young learners, I collaborated with some teachers in some successful projects while did others on my own. Some examples are :
I used Skype and Facebook in a collaboration project with my dearest friend Maria Bossa from Argentina.
Then I used Edmodo, wikis, online books and voxopop in another collaboration project with a teacher in Canada.
I have been using Classdojo for some time with my YLs as well and it's really great. I can send you links to some posts about my projects.
