I've been very busy lately that I missed the live sessions but I'll try to catch up now! and here I"m posting my assignment for week 2:
#Task 1: it is a speaking activity aimed at encouraging students to use the English language and improve their speaking skills, it is performed with a pair of dice but instead of numbers I put words. They roll the dice to see what "poisonous words" they will get, they need to talk for 2 min non stop about a specific topic and without uttering these poisonous words! it is much fun and students love it so much.
Your activity sounds like it would be quite fun for your students as they try to speak for those two minutes! How did they react if they stumbled over words? Did they encourage each other to keep going? I'm sure in the beginning, they were a bit unsure that they could do it because this activity requires them to be creative and to keep a conversation going. But, once they did it several times, I can imagine that they became much more confident and happy to develop this speaking skill. Speaking more than just one or two sentences in a conversation is often a challenge for many of our students, especially those who are afraid of making mistakes. Thanks for sharing this great activity!
ReplyDeleteMarwa,
ReplyDeleteI like how you played with the poisonous words. This enthusiasm surely must have been passed to students!
Lovely activity in which students played with language.
