#Task 3 - Circle Time
I work with toddlers so circle time is really different from the big children's one.
For me circle time is the most important moment in the day, because we can pay attention to each children for a moment, we can see their progress and make sure that we are doing a good job.
Although with toddlers it is not so easy, we can not spend a long time, their attention is small so we need to be sure about what we want to know. We use name tags with pictures to see who is at school and at home and this is a very nice moment, it is when they started knowing theirselves and their friend's name.We sing some songs with props and do our routine with pictures this moment is essential to them because their first speech or words in English are about songs and routine. For this age it is very important to work with concrete things, so circle time is the beginning to their development language.
I really enjoy circle time to see their development. It is grateful when I see my babies growing up. So circle time is the base of everything.
The challenge is to call their attention, to be sure that they are enjoying and participating with a big toddlers group it is harder to do this.

I think a good alternative in a teeanage class could be U-shape sitting. Am I right?
ReplyDeleteCarol, circle time is not as easy as it seems. It's important to make the necessary adjustments to make sure they are able to understand and fully participate. Timing is also another important issue and with toddlers we are talking about something around five minutes.
ReplyDeleteI share with you the joy of seeing them growing up and expressing themselves!
