Please take a picture that symbolizes affective language learning for you and share it with the group explaining why you took it.

For me this picture is a symbol for teaching young learners affectively because we can see that they are happy, enjoying and having fun, which is the most important thing for their first contact with the language. I teach toddlers and adaptation time is really hard so we work a lot to do our best for each child. They cry, of course, because it is their first moment at school but when they are adapted, they trust you and when they feel comfortable, they start enjoying the class, exploring the environment, loving you and learning a lot. This moment is amazing - when they get the most of everything that you give and put out, reproducing their first worlds in English and showing that they can give us feedback and teach us so much. I love my toddlers :)

  1. Carol,

I like very much the words you chose: happy, enjoying, fun, trust, comfortable, exploring, loving, and learning.
These words should always be remembered when teachers plan class and administrators design programs.

    Lovely picture!
