Hello Everyone!

Hello Everyone! My name is Raquel and I am from Costa Rica. I have been teaching for 6 years now. I started to teach when I was very young. I am starting my own language school this year, its very difficult at the beginning but not impossible.  I mostly teach very young kids ( from 4 months old to 12 years old) I also manage groups of teens and adults. I am eager to learn as much as I can in order to give my students the best. I spend all nights preparing material and thinking about the best ideas to become a better teacher. My dream is to get a MA in TESOL and later on teach abroad. I am looking forward to learn a lot from Juan and all of the participants!! Nice to meet you!

Hello to you all!

Hello to you all! My name is Maria and I'm from Río Tercero city, in Cordoba province, Argentina. I've been a teacher for 25 years now, however, I believe I was born being a teacher! :) These days I teach at 11 courses: 8 at secondary school and 3 at primary school and I have almost 350 students per week. The ages are 10 to 16. I love teaching no matter the age!! I'm taking the course with Juan because I'm a big fan of his blog and I believe wee share the same passion for kids and puppets. Hope I can learn and share a lot with you all! Smiles from Argentina, Maria :)

Hello! :)

Hello! :) It's so good to join! I am very excited about the course! My name is Carolina and I am from San José, Costa Rica. I have been an English teacher for around 8 years. All through those years I've had some group of young learners. I love teaching kids and how energetic and eager they are about learning. In addition, I work as a curricular developer and I am in charge of the kids and teens program. I look forward to learning a lot. The more I read, the more I look forward to it!

Hello, everyone!!!

Hello, everyone!!! My name is Danilo Ribeiro and I live in São Paulo, Brazil. I have been teaching English for 6 years. I've been teaching YLes for 3 years and I am passionate about them. In addition to teaching language to them, I firmly believe we are responsible for teaching values and other 'hidden' things that surface as time goes by. I believe all kids have potential, but teachers, most of the times, lack the right tools, to unleash their learning potential. To me, this course is the tool we need to nurture and cater for their needs. =) I am willing to learn more from this more-than-fantastic community of teachers. Nice to meet you all! * btw Juan, you worked at Seven Idiomas, didn't you? :)

I am very happy and honored to welcome you to our iTDi course!

I am very happy and honored to welcome you to our iTDi course! Teaching Young Learners Affectively is a course that will empower you to connect better with your students and to create an affective bond between them and English. Every week you will be full of ideas to put in practice with your learners. Get ready! But first, let's build our international group by getting to know ourselves better. I will start it by introducing myself. My name is Juan Uribe and I have been an English teacher since 1992, when I first started teaching children in São Paulo, Brazil. I have always been passionate about playful ways of learning, specially with all those things that were not created as teaching resources such as pegs, yo-yos, stones, and specially puppets. My passion led me to create a school together with my sister Sosô where young learners are eager and excited to learn English. I spent the last two years of my life learning, researching, and sharing my affective language learning jour...
